Paradise Cove Beach
Paradise Cove Beach (Warren J. Levarity Hwy., between Eight Mile Rock and West End West End, Grand Bahama Island) – located just a 15-minute drive from Freeport, this beach’s main attraction is its marine life (from sea turtles to rays, dolphins, colorful fish, barracudas, etc.) at a spot located 50 yards offshore, colorfully called “Deadman’s Reef – making this area ideal for snorkelers and divers. There’s a $3 charge to visit the beach.
“Paradise Cove Resort” (deadmansreef.com) – conveniently offers underwater tour packages to visitors, including snorkeling gear, a full lunch or dinner, transport to and from the reef — for those who don’t want to swim out to the site — and a bonfire during the evening. Discounts are available for children, as well as for those who take along their own snorkeling gear.
