Fresh Creek

Fresh Creek (Andros Island) – this is the central part of Andros Island (and one of the more sparsely-populated islands of the Bahamas). Given that this is one of the lesser-frequented tourist areas of the Bahamas, those who have come here are either diving, or bonefishing. The most select anglers from around the globe come to Andros to match wits with these challenging game fish. A variety of other game fish can be found around the island including permit, tarpon, barracuda, snappers, jacks, grouper, dolphin, wahoo, marlin and sharks.

Note: in 1892, Andros Lighthouse was built that year to mark the southern entrance to the Fresh Creek channel, which still stands there today.
