Albert Lowe Museum

Albert Lowe Museum (Parliament Street, New Plymouth, Green Turtle Cay) – Green Turtle Cay was one of the first islands settled in The Bahamas, in the 1770’s by the Revolutionary War Loyalists. Many of the island’s 500 or so residents can trace their ancestry back to these Loyalists. This museum, established in 1976 and housed in a restored Victorian-era family home, displays the fascinating history of New Plymouth with photographs and antique artifacts dating back to the turn of the century as well as ship models of the Abaco sailing vessels, some of which were used as blockade runners during the U.S. Civil War. Call (242) 367-4094 for the museum’s current schedule.
